Oscar L. Turner

? Services for Oscar L. Turner, 91, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ives Chapel United Methodist Church in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Sutton Cemetery in rural Douglas County.

Mr. Turner died Monday, March 17, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 21, 1911, in rural Douglas County, the son of Oscar A. and Clarice E. (Clary) Turner. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1929.

Mr. Turner was a farmer stockman and carpenter. He worked on the family farm, homesteaded by his great-great-grandfather in 1868, until 2000, when he moved to Baldwin. He was a past member of Odd Fellows and was an Oakdale No. 10 school board member for many years.

He married Frances Grace Oshel on Feb. 23, 1932. She died Oct. 18, 1982.

Survivors include a son, Owen, Lawrence; two daughters, Betty North, Baldwin, and Judy Anderson, Ottawa; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin.
