— After the top of the first inning, Kansas University's baseball team had to feel pretty good.

The Jayhawks jumped to a 5-0 lead after a half inning against Oral Roberts, a team KU rallied to beat Friday.

But ORU rallied Saturday, steadily climbing to earn a 7-6 victory at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

The Jayhawks didn't allow a run until ORU rattled off three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one each in the sixth and eighth. KU had one last chance in the ninth, but drew a blank.

Junior Chris Smart (0-1) got the loss in relief for the Jayhawks, pitching just one inning. He allowed three hits and a run.

Junior Josh Duran started the game for the Jayhawks, allowing three runs on five hits. Junior Brandon Johnson relieved in the fourth, but fared no better, giving up three more runs on three hits and a walk.

Sophomore Travis Metcalf was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double for the Jayhawks, and junior Matt Tribble and senior Casey Spanish each added two RBIs.

The Jayhawks will end a three-game series with ORU at 1 p.m. today.
