KU can’t hold lead, falls to Oral Roberts

? After the top of the first inning, Kansas University’s baseball team had to feel pretty good.

But ORU rallied Saturday, steadily climbing to earn a 7-6 victory at J.L. Johnson Stadium.

The Jayhawks didn’t allow a run until ORU rattled off three runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one each in the sixth and eighth. KU had one last chance in the ninth, but drew a blank.

Junior Chris Smart (0-1) got the loss in relief for the Jayhawks, pitching just one inning. He allowed three hits and a run.

Sophomore Travis Metcalf was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a double for the Jayhawks, and junior Matt Tribble and senior Casey Spanish each added two RBIs.
