The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met March 5 for its weekly game. Eleven pairs competed in a stratified game that used a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game. Gary Joyce and Mary Joyce claimed first place. Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges finished second. Manjiri Vaidya and Yudu Vaidya took third place in A and first place in B and C. Harry Talley and Don Daugherty placed fourth in A and second in B. Dorothy Arth and Frances Vogel took third place in B.

Playing North-South, Amit Chakrabarti and Mory Mort claimed first place in A and B. Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough took second place. Diane Childs and Jeff Nash finished third place in A and second place in B. Harriet Olson and Bob Anderson placed fourth in A, third in B and first in C.

Competing East-West, Gary Joyce and Mary Joyce took first place in A, B and C. Madelyn Jenks and Mona Bell finished second place in A and B. Harry Shaffer and Jim Gunn placed third. Kittye Hagen and Ann Thompson placed fourth in A and B and second in C.

Eldon Herd and Glenna Herd finished fourth in A and B. Julia Brooks and Jerry Sloan came in fifth place. Barb Hamilton and Bill Hamilton claimed first in C. Gladys Turner and Max Turner placed second in C.

Playing East-West, Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman claimed first place. Patt Radford and John Hickey took second place. Lois Clark and Russell La Force placed third in A and first in B and C. Steve Goodman and Elizabeth Nice came in fourth place. Phyllis Brownlee and Madelyn Jenks placed second in B. Judy Bevan and Bob Anderson placed second in the C session.
