Catrina Lemesany, Lawrence, made the dean’s list for the fall 2002 semester at Arizona State University by earning a 4.0 grade-point average.

Sarah Dinsdale, Lawrence, performed in the Sterling College Symphonic Band Spring Concert on Thursday. She is the daughter of Bob and Katherine Dinsdale.

Brian Erb, Lawrence, was named a College Scholar for academic excellence during the 2002 fall term at Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt., by earning at least a 3.6 grade-point average. He is the son of Thomas and Karen Simmons Erb, Lawrence.

Rachael Ulbrick, Lawrence, completed a 14-day snowboarding course with the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander, Wyo. The expedition-style course took students to the Snake River Range, the Bighole Range and the Tetons, where they learned the basic skills needed for safe winter travel in the backcountry.

Ethan McDonald, Lawrence, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2002 semester at Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y. He is a Free State High School graduate.

Shiv Subramaniam, Bishop Seabury Academy eighth-grader, has won the local or club-level 2003 essay contest for the Optimist Club. The contest gives students an opportunity to write about their opinions regarding the world they live in. This year’s topic was “When Our Freedom is Threatened.”

Shiv was awarded a medallion and a $500 scholarship. His essay has been submitted to the Optimist District Level for the District of Kansas.

Megan Lewis, Lawrence, has been named to the fall 2002 president’s list at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., by earning a 4.0 grade-point average and completing at least 12 semester hours of credit. Lewis is a senior majoring in political science and Spanish. She is the daughter of Kim and Joe Lewis Jr.

Casey Brinkerhoff, Lawrence, made the dean’s list for the fall 2002 semester at Columbus College of Art & Design, Columbus, Ohio, by earning at least a 3.0 grade-point average and completing at least 15 hours of credit. Brinkerhoff, a 2002 graduate of Lawrence High School, is the son of Cory and Cindy Brinkerhoff.

Jarrett Johnson, Baldwin, has been named to the fall 2002 president’s list at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo. He is the son of Michael and Kathleen Johnson.
