The Vinland Valley 4-H Club met March 3 at Vinland Elementary School.

Members answered roll call by naming their favorite thing to wear that is green.

Members discussed the upcoming Capital City Rabbit Show concessions. Members were asked to bring a pie when they work their shift. The 2003 Douglas County Free Fair schedule of events and changes were announced.

Members enrolled in the pet and rabbit projects gave the program. Leah Hoelscher and her dog Sam showed members proper behavior and grooming techniques. Krystal Bateson, David Bateson, Lacey Hunsinger and Blake Shields gave a talk about their rabbits, which they showed to the club.

The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 7 at the school. Host families will be the Hoelschers and Fifes.

The Stull Busy Beavers 4-H Club met Feb. 10. Members answered roll call by naming a Kansas fact.

Bart Solbach, historian, shared some 4-H history with the club. Club members brought about 100omemade valentines that the Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. will distribute.

A short program wasrovided by members who are enrolled in the beef, arts and crafts, wildlife and poultry projects.

The Vinland Family Community Education Unit will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with Virgie Pfantz as hostess.

Mariann Bradley will give the lesson “What Do You Stand For.”

Members will answer roll by saying whether they have written to a legislator.
