Douglas County Safe Kids Coalition is offering a free child safety seat check from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dale Willey Automotive, 2840 Iowa.

Certified child passenger safety seat technicians will inspect and adjust safety seats and make recommendations for the best fit for each vehicle.

Organizers ask that the seat be installed in the vehicle before arrival.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling ConnectCare at 749-5800.

Past safety seat checks have shown that four of five child safety seats are not installed correctly, putting children at risk of injury or death.
