Rockies’ Uribe has stress fracture

? The Colorado Rockies will await further tests on shortstop Juan Uribe’s broken foot before determining how long he will be sidelined.

Uribe sustained a stress fracture in his right foot when he hit first base awkwardly while reaching on an error in the second inning of Saturday’s 9-5 victory over the Texas Rangers.

Uribe then ran from first to third on Matt Holliday’s double but limped noticeably as he rounded second, and he left the game. X-rays showed the stress fracture.

“The only other thing we know positively is we will send him to Denver for further tests,” Rockies trainer Tom Probst said.
