KU women fall to Tigers, 73-52

? Stretch James, Tracy Lozier and Kerensa Barr each scored 15 points and led Missouri to a 73-52 Big 12 Conference basketball victory Saturday over Kansas University.

Lozier made all four of her field goals from three-point range, James made six of eight shots, and Barr added six assists. MyEsha Perkins came off the bench and scored 13 points for Missouri.

Tamara Ransburg scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds for Kansas (10-16 overall, 3-12 Big 12) for her seventh double-double of the season. Aquanita Burras and Erica Hallman each added 11 points for the Jayhawks.

After leading by 15 at halftime, Missouri (14-12, 8-7) got two three-pointers from Barr in the first five minutes of the second half to go up 45-23. The Tigers, who shot 54.2 percent and made 13 of 16 free throws, led by as many as 26.

Missouri scored the first 10 points and kept Kansas scoreless until Ransburg banked in a shot with 15:28 left in the first half. The Tigers built an 18-4 lead while making 70 percent of their shots before Kansas slowed them down and came back, coming within seven at 26-19 with 3:13 left in the half.

Lozier hit two straight three-pointers to give Missouri more breathing room, and the Tigers ended the half leading 34-19. Missouri shot 48 percent in the first half, while Kansas shot 30 percent. The Jayhawks also had 14 turnovers in the half and 25 in the game.
