Milwaukee art museum adds industrial exhibit

Art exhibits can be stuffy, but probably not one devoted to the man who designed the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, the Miller Brewing logo and the wide-mouth peanut butter jar.

The Milwaukee Art Museum will feature “Industrial Strength Design: How Brooks Stevens Shaped Your World,” through Sept. 7. Stevens was one of the most influential industrial designers of the 20th century.

And the museum is a work of art itself, with its new wing designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

For tickets ($12 for adults, $10 for seniors/students), contact (866) 626-1323 or www.museumtix.com. Hotel package information is available at (800) 554-1448 or www.milwaukee.org.
