Victor L. ImMasche

Graveside inurnment services for Victor L. ImMasche, 91, Lawrence, will be later.

Mr. ImMasche died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Presbyterian Manor.

He was born March 23, 1912, in Saffordville, the son of Henry R. and Anna Mae (Lyles) ImMasche. He attended College of Emporia and graduated from Kansas State Teacher’s College in 1940.

Mr. ImMasche served in the U.S. Army’s 83rd Infantry during World War II from December 1943 to December 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Later he became a public school teacher and elementary school principal. He also was the secretary/treasurer for Teichgraeber Milling Company from 1946 to 1967. He served on the Emporia Board of Education from 1957 to 1965 and as a Lyon County commissioner from 1976 to 1984.

Mr. ImMasche was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Post No. 5, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Masonic Lodge.

He married Berniece Kyle on August 6, 1934. She died on Jan. 12, 2000.

Survivors include a son, Michael, Ft. Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Ann Eversole, Lawrence; a brother, Robert, Houston; and two grand- children.

The family suggests memorials to the Good Samaritan Fund at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
