All-Star practice continues at Haskell

Workouts continue for the second annual Native American All-Star football game set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Haskell Stadium.

The West and East squads each have 25 players who have been working out since Tuesday.

In last year’s inaugural game, the West clipped the East, 27-10. The West coach, Carl Madison of Pine Forest, N.C., is back this year. East coach Herman Boone, who gained fame a few years ago as the protagonist in the movie “Remember the Titans,” has been replaced by Dominic Bramante of Riverside Indian School.

John Harjo, a former Haskell Indian Nations University football player who operates NDNsports.com, is the game’s director.

The teams will practice this morning and afternoon, then attend a barbecue tonight.
