Tonganoxie Days festival ends

? Nearly 100 people participated Saturday in a 10K run and 5K walk to raise money for Tonganoxie Public Library during the annual Tonganoxie Days Festival.

“This was one of the best runs we’ve ever had,” said Janice Seymour, Tonganoxie, a member of the Friends of the Tonganoxie Public Library. “The turnout was wonderful.”

The festival is held each year on the second weekend of June.

Booths selling food, crafts and other items lined Fourth Street for the festival, offering wares that included wooden toys, mobiles, jewelry, clothing and garden decorations.

Other activities included a flyover by Air Force aircraft, a quilting and fancy needlework display, art show, barbecue contest, car show and a performance by the 312th Army Reserve Band of Lawrence.
