The Motley Fool

Last week’s answer

I was founded in Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1912, and landed my first patent in 1914, for a wastebasket. I now hold more than 900 patents. I’m a global leader in office furniture, taking in about $2.6 billion annually. I employ 16,000 people, maintain manufacturing plants in 40 locations, and am sold from more than 800 locations. You might know me for my file cabinets, but my 500-plus product lines are spread over interior architectural products, furniture systems, technology products, and seating, lighting, storage and related products and services. I’m twice as big as my nearest competitor. Who am I? (Answer: Steelcase)
