A dozen men and seven women will vie for singles titles in the Lawrence Open tennis tournament today and Sunday at the Lawrence Tennis Center.

In the men’s singles, Sean McQueary of Springfield, Mo.; John Bail of Lawrence; J.D. Gravina of Kansas City, Mo.; and Jim Stoner of Higginsville, Mo., have drawn first-round byes.

All seven women’s singles entrants are from Lawrence, including Gabrielle Gertz, who has a first-round bye.

Both the men’s and women’s championship finals are scheduled for 9 a.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Tennis Center.

Other competition will be in men’s 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 singles, men’s 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and open doubles, women’s open doubles and mixed doubles.
