KU’s Bookman, Menefee in finals tonight

? Two Kansas University runners will compete tonight in the NCAA Outdoor track and field championships.

Sprinter Leo Bookman will race in the 200-meter dash finals at 10:10 p.m. CDT and Mark Menefee will compete in the 5,000-meter run at 11 p.m. Bookman, a junior from Dickinson, Texas, clocked the second-fastest time (20.62) in Thursday’s semifinals.

He is also a wide receiver on the Kansas football team.

Menefee, a senior from Buhler, finished fourth in his heat during Wednesday’s 5,000 qualifying.
