Harold Vernon Edmonds

Memorial services for Harold Vernon Edmonds, 77, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.

Mr. Edmonds died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 3, 1926, in McLouth, the son of L.T. and Ethel (Pearson) Edmonds.

Mr. Edmonds was a Navy veteran of World War II. Later he established a residential contraction business and owned the first mini-storage business in Lawrence, Edmonds Mini-storage. He was a member of Noon Cosmopolitan Club and Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion.

He married Arlene Ready on April 5, 1947, in Oskaloosa. She survives the home.

Other survivors include a son, Rick, Lawrence; a brother, Kenneth, Capon Bridge, W.Va.; two sisters, Esther Hammig, Lawrence, and Velma Weibel, Cassville, Mo.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends after the memorial service.

The family suggests memorials to Parkinson’s Foundation or American Heart Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
