Howard and Lorene Cox

B.J. and Charlotte Robinson, McLouth, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 21 at the Leavenworth-Jefferson Electric Cooperative, north of McLouth. Friends and family are invited.

B.J. Robinson and Charlotte Wells were married June 21, 1953, in Kansas City, Kan. They moved to Tonganoxie in 1960 and McLouth in 1969. B.J. is retired from Associated Wholesale Grocers as a garage superintendent. Charlotte is a homemaker and drives the senior citizens van in McLouth.

Their children are Bill Robinson Jr., Andover; Karen and Ralph Bailey, McLouth; and Melinda and Tom Farr, Oskaloosa. They have two grandchildren.

The couple request no gifts.

Hickey

Don and Frances Hickey, Lady Lake, Fla., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family vacation to Branson, Mo.

Don Hickey and Frances Young were married June 19, 1953, in Kansas City. Don operated an ice cream business in Topeka, Tonganoxie and McLouth for 23 years. He also worked for J.T.’s General Store and Hallmark Cards in Lawrence. Frances retired in 1991 after 18 years with Hallmark Cards in Lawrence.

Their children are John Hickey, Sharon Molby and Kathy Hickey, all of Lawrence, and Ed Hickey, Topeka. They have two grandchildren.

Cox

Howard and Lorene Cox, Linwood, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. June 29 at Eudora City Hall.

They were married Feb. 1, 1953, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Eudora.

Howard is a retired farmer. Lorene is a homemaker and 4-H leader.

They spent their 50th anniversary in Yuma, Ariz., where they live in the winter.

The couple’s children are Philip and Marilyn Whitenton, Yuma, Ariz.; Paul and Sheri Flory, Baldwin; and David and Jodette Cox, Linwood. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
