Renegades split DH with 17ers
Manhattan ? Lawrence’s Renegades split a doubleheader with the Manhattan 17ers Tuesday, winning the second game, 5-2, after losing the opener, 7-3.
Cal Heinrich and Kyle McManness had two hits apiece in the second game, supporting Joe Crane, who allowed seven hits in 62¼3 innings. Spence Chaney earned a save.
Ryan Engel had two hits and an RBI in the opener, while Carl Lisher had a hit and RBI.
“We are playing extremely tough teams now and we’re beating ourselves,” coach Lynn Harrod said. He cited his team’s strong pitching performance on Tuesday. The Renegades, 3-6, travel to KC Post 183 Thursday.
