Travis Doudna, 14, reels in his cast after nearly tangling lines in the turbulent water with a fisherman below. Doudna said that the water level was lower than normal and that the concrete ledge from which the man fished on Wednesday was usually underwater. Doudna has fished this spot on the Kansas River just below the Bowersock Dam since he was 8 years old. The fisherman below declined to be identified.
