Services for Manuel Cardenas Sr., 84, Denver, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cardenas died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Ben and Addie (Bell) Cardenas.
Mr. Cardenas served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Later, he worked in civil service at an airbase in Denver. He also was a bus driver.
He married Venibell Georgie. She died Dec. 8, 1991. They had been married more than 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Manuel Jr., Denver; a daughter, Vanita Douglas, Vista, Calif., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call between noon and 9 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to American Heart Assn. or American Diabetes Assn., sent in care of the funeral home.
