Thomas Melvin Vance
Services for Thomas Melvin Vance, 83, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Underwood-Steinbeck Funeral Home, Butler, Mo.
Mr. Vance died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1919, in Butler, the son of Thomas H. and Iva May (Berryhill) Vance.
Mr. Vance owned and operated Tom Vance Clothing Co. and Bowen’s Hallmark Cards, both of Butler.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Topeka, Masonic Lodge No. 254 in Butler, Scottish Rite of Topeka, York Rite of Kansas City and Ararat Shrine of Kansas City.
He married Gladys Vance. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Bowen, Lawrence.
The family suggests donations to a charity of the donor’s choice.
