Chicago Board of Trade

Grain and soybean futures finished higher Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Corn futures rose amid lingering concern about arid weather conditions in the western states and the potential damage to crops. Soybean prices were higher due to hot, dry growing conditions in the western U.S. and expectations of a drop in crop condition ratings in the federal government’s weekly crop progress report. Support also was generated by China’s reassurance that soybean imports likely will increase for 2003.
