James T. Dedloff

? Memorial services for James T. Dedloff, 64, Venice, Fla., will be Aug. 28 in Venice.

Mr. Dedloff died Sunday, July 20, 2003.

He was born Aug. 28, 1938, in Buffalo, N.Y. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree from Kansas University. He moved to Venice in 1998 from Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Dedloff retired from the U.S. Army as a major after 22 years of service. He served in Europe and Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for Heroism. He was director of community corrections for Leavenworth County, Kan., and retired from the department of social welfare at KU Medical Center in 1990. He was employed at Sarasota Memorial Hospital at the time of his death.

He married Edeltraud Wutkovski in 1964. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Wayne, Lawrence, Kan.; a daughter, Melissa Dedloff, Clearwater, Fla..; and two grandsons.

The National Cremation Society, Venice chapter, is handling arrangements.
