Chiefs video assistant injured in fall from truck

? Todd Weger, a Kansas City Chiefs video assistant, was reported improving Saturday night after falling from an equipment truck and hitting his head.

Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said following the afternoon practice that Weger remained hospitalized. Weger fell Friday from the six-wheel vehicle.

“All I know is, he’s improving. He’s in the hospital, but he’s improving,” Vermeil said. “I haven’t been updated since I’ve been on the field. But it was all positive.”

The squat, open-cab vehicle, known as a “Gator,” is used to ferry water and other equipment around the practice field. Vermeil said he believed it was moving when the accident occurred.

Weger was taken to a hospital in nearby St. Paul, Minn.

“He was conscious at the hospital, then they took him to a trauma center in St. Paul to check him out,” Vermeil said. “Last night he was communicating with people.”
