J-W photographer to lead MyStory session

Journal-World chief photographer Mike Yoder will lead the next installation in the MyStory series from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Aug. 5 at Babcock Place, 1700 Mass.

The workshop is titled "Storytelling with Pictures and Portraiture Techniques" and is the fourth in the series designed to preserve personal histories.

The series is sponsored by Douglas County Senior Services, the Lawrence Public Library and the Lawrence Douglas County Housing Authority/Babcock Place.

Pre-registration is required for all programs. Call senior services at 842-0543 to register.

Sinatra tribute auditions set for early August

He's been dead for five years, but the Lawrence Community Theatre is bringing Frank Sinatra back for one last show.

Auditions for "My Way ... A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra" will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 11-12 at the theater, 1501 N.H.

Roles are available for two men and two women.

An accompanist will be provided, and those auditioning are asked to prepare one brief Sinatra-style song. Rehearsals begin Aug. 17, and the show will begin its run Sept. 26.
