Wanda L. Kaiser
Services for Wanda L. Kaiser, 82, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wilson & Son Funeral Home, Paola.
Mrs. Kaiser died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1920, in Fowler, the daughter of Robert and Jessie (Franklin) Carlson. She attended Hutchinson High School and graduated from Kansas University in 1942. She attended graduate school at Kansas University and Indiana University.
Mrs. Kaiser taught for a year in Smith Center. Afterward, she taught at Paola High School for 23 years. She also was a freelance features writer and, after leaving teaching, prepared advertising for the family business. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Paola Country Club and Chapter DQ of P.E.O. She also belonged to Kansas University Alumni Association, the Jayhawk Society and the KU Gold Medal Club. She had served on Paola City Council and the Paola Country Club Board.
She married John H. “Jack” Kaiser on March 19, 1943, in Hattiesburg, Miss. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Sandra Lee Praeger and Nancy Jean Kaiser Caplan, both of Lawrence; four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
