Fenstemaker services

Services for Roberta M. Fenstemaker, 72, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Fenstemaker died Monday, July 21, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1931, in Lawrence, the daughter of Robert Milton and Jamella M. (Smith) Ice. She attended Lawrence schools.

Mrs. Fenstemaker had worked for Kansas University at the information booth and as a police dispatcher for 22 years before retiring in 1998. She also had previously worked at Yellow Cab and Hillcrest Hardware Store. She was a member of Indian Hills Church of God and past president of Eagles Auxiliary.

She married Edwin Wilbur Fenstemaker on Sept. 13, 1947, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a son, William Edwin Fenstemaker, Lawrence; two daughters, Linda Sue Hodson and Nancy Jane Ruff, both of Lawrence; two sisters, Mildred Hogan and Patricia Hardister, both of Lawrence; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the mortuary.
