Kansas City, Mo ? The Lawrence Raiders ended their regular season, edging the K.C. Grays, 5-4, Thursday night.

Tyler Blankenship’s sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth scored David Arndt, and Blake Dickson shut out the Grays in the bottom of the inning.

“Dickson was awesome in the ninth,” Raiders coach Carl Brooks said. “And we executed well, got the leadoff guy on with a double, then moved him over and Tyler scored him.”

Blankenship (3-0) picked up the win for the Raiders (32-10), who turn their attention to the American Legion zone tournament that begins Monday at Free State Field.

The Raiders won’t play until Tuesday, when they face the winner of the K.C. 83-Atchison game.
