Kansas University offered a scholarship to Darnell Jackson, so Kalen Grimes accepted one from Missouri.

Jackson, a 6-foot-9, 236-pound senior-to-be from Oklahoma City, orally committed Friday to the Jayhawks. KU already had a power forward, so Grimes (6-8, 265) verbally committed Tuesday to MU.

The forward from Hazelwood Central in Florissant, Mo., had said KU was his first choice.

“Kansas was in a position they could only take one big man,” Grimes told rivals.com. “I’m glad I chose Missouri. I can’t wait to play against Darnell Jackson for the next four years.”
