Raiders roll in Kansas City

? Dominick Harrell struck out 13 batters in seven innings, and the Lawrence Raiders defeated Kansas City Varsity Sports, 16-4, Monday night at Eisenhower Field.

Harrell (4-2) allowed five walks and seven hits.

Tyler Blankenship pitched one perfect inning of relief. He struck out two of the three batters he faced, giving the Raiders’ staff 15 strikeouts.

The game had been scheduled for nine innings but ended after eight because of the mercy rule.

Derek Bailey, Matt Berner and Taylor Martin led Lawrence’s 18-hit attack with three apiece.

The Raiders (29-10) play again tonight at Gardner.
