Chicago Board of Trade

Technically motivated selling pulled soybean prices lower Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat and corn also fell modestly.

Market-watchers attributed the drop in soybean futures to the expiration of the July contract, which weighed on other nearby contracts. A lower crush figure in the government’s monthly crush report also contributed.

Wheat pulled back amid a lack of fresh news to generate buying.

Corn slipped lower, partly under pressure from favorable growing conditions in the Midwest.
