Betty Jean Sparks

? Graveside services for Betty Jean Sparks, 80, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Mrs. Sparks died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Lawrence.

She was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Humbolt, the daughter of James Lee and Bractis Rebecca (Chubb) Heryford.

Mrs. Sparks was the former owner of Drive-Inn Market and Play House Hobby Shop in Pratt.

She married Norman Wallace Sparks on Jan. 30, 1941, in Dodge City. He died Feb. 14, 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Jean Sparks Ogden, and her husband, Don, Lawrence; a sister, Catherine June Grimes, Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

A son, Jimmie Leon, and a daughter, Norma June Sparks, died earlier.

Friends may call between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. today and Sunday at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Holiday Inn Express, Pratt.
