KU tennis rallies to 4-3 dual victory

? Kansas University rallied Saturday to defeat Brigham Young, 4-3, in the Jayhawks’ first dual match of the tennis season.

Kansas fell behind by one point after dropping all three doubles matches, but the Jayhawks won four of six singles matches to take the dual. In the deciding match, KU junior Emily Haylock defeated Olga Boulytcheva, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, in No. 3 singles.

In No. 1 singles, KU junior Courtney Steinbock defeated Dominique Reynolds, 7-5, 6-3. Kansas sophomore Paige Brown had no trouble in her No. 2 singles match with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Lu Oswald. The other point was earned by Jayhawk freshman Christine Skoda, who was victorious over Elizaveta Klempner 7-5, 6-2 in No. 4 singles.

“Normally we win our doubles matches,” Kansas coach Kilmeny Waterman said.
