Area Boys Roundup: McLouth settles for fourth place

? McLouth High’s boys basketball team took an early lead, but couldn’t hold on against Valley Falls on Saturday, losing 89-79, in the McLouth Invitational.

The Dragons’ Tyson Allen scored 42 points, leading his team to third-place against the host Bulldogs (5-6).

His big game offset McLouth’s one-two punch of junior Isaac Gardner and senior Tyler Trackwell, who scored 27 and 22 points.

McLouth — The Kaws led 21-20 at halftime, but a three-point third quarter helped the Chargers take the lead and take fifth place at the McLouth Invitational on Saturday.

Junior Spencer Kennedy was the lone Perry-Lecompton player in double figures, with 12 points.

Spring Hill — The Wildcats outscored Osawatomie 17-14 in the fourth quarter, helping them to seventh place at the Spring Hill Invitational on Saturday.

DeSoto hit 18 of 22 free throws, including 11 of 14 in the fourth. Sophomore Danny Brown led the Wildcats with 18 points, while junior Ryan Brown added 12.
