The Rev. Barry Feaker, director of the Topeka Rescue Mission, will meet with the Lawrence Coalition on Homeless Concerns at 7:30 p.m. today at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt.

Feaker will show slides of the Topeka program’s 24-hour shelter, which each year houses close to 2,000 people on a repeat basis. The shelter also serves more than 150,000 meals annually.

After Feaker’s presentation, coalition members will discuss the likelihood of starting a similar program in Lawrence.

Feaker has been director at Topeka Rescue Mission for the past 17 years.
