Clark services

Mrs. Clark died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at her home.

She was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Pratt, the daughter of Donald A. and Lois (Figge) Farmer. A 1955 graduate of Pratt High School, she received her bachelor’s degree in education from Kansas University in 1959.

Mrs. Clark was a Spanish language teacher at Lawrence High School the past 17 years. She also previously taught foreign language at Baldwin High School.

At LHS, she was the head of the foreign language department, student council faculty adviser, was actively involved in the annual Mud Volleyball Tournament and coordinated the LHS Adopt-A-Family program.

Mrs. Clark was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and its Altar Guild, Chapter AZ of PEO Sisterhood and Gamma Phi Beta sorority while at KU. She later served as the Gamma Phi Beta chapter adviser and served on the Gamma Phi Beta Corp. board of directors.

She married Dr. Ray Clark on June 30, 1962, in Pratt. He died Dec. 25, 1996.

Survivors include four daughters, Laura Rogers, Leawood, Lisa Lorman and Melissa Clark, both of Englewood, Colo., and Lynn Clark-Shoemaker, Linwood; a brother, Don Farmer, Washington, D.C.; a sister, Sara Hausler, Wichita; and two grandsons.

The family will receive friends after services Thursday at the church.

The family suggests memorials to the Linda Clark Memorial Fund at Lawrence High School, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
