Eileen M. Honse

Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen M. Honse, 60, Lawrence, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Honse died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 25, 1942, in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Morris) Kennedy. She graduated from Hunter College Nursing School in New York in 1964.

Mrs. Honse was a registered nurse and homemaker. She was also a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center and attended St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church with her family. She was a member of GQ Chapter PEO Sisterhood, former Girl Scout volunteer and former Parent-Teacher Assn. president at Broken Arrow School. She had been a board member for Lawrence Salvation Army and was on the founding board of Bishop Seabury Academy.

She married Robert Honse on June 3, 1967, in San Francisco. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Dodd, Lawrence, and Christy Allen, Kansas City, Mo.; and two granddaughters.

A parish wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, where the family will receive friends after the service until 8:30 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center, Corpus Christi Catholic Church or St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
