Family memorial services for Anita Thelma Brown, 69, Lawrence, will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Brown died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was cremated.

She was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of William and Thelma (Owens) Brummell. She graduated from Sumner High School in Kansas City, Kan., in 1951 and later from Kansas State University with a degree in bacteriology.

Mrs. Brown was a lab worker at Watkins Student Health Center until she retired after 13 years of service in 1981 as chief technologist. She was a member of St. Luke’s A.M.E. Church.

She married Ronald Jay Brown. They later divorced.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Jay Brown, Kansas City, Mo., Michael Aaron Brown, Lawrence, and Geoffry David Brown, San Francisco; four sisters, Yvonne Boone, Eloise Level, Alice Jenkins and Willieve Gaton, all of Kansas City, Kan.; and a grandchild.
