Overseas investors still like U.S. options
Paris ? American investors may have grown wary of the U.S. stock market but overseas investors still rate American investment options highly, according to a new survey.
Wealthy Europeans say private equity and hedge funds here still offer the best investment opportunities.
Forty-one percent of 150 “ultra-high-net worth” investors, with at least $10 million to invest, said America was the best geography for their money, with Europe a close second (38 percent).
And this group isn’t gun-shy about returns — 88 percent said it would maintain or increase investment in a product they’ve bought into during the past two years.
Deflation was the biggest investment risk, predicted by 89 percent of the survey respondents, while 39 percent said inflation would be a factor in their investment.
The survey was conducted recently in Paris by J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
