KU men bowlers win Colgate tourney

? When you’re hot, you’re hot and Kansas University’s men’s bowling team was sizzling as it defended its championship in the Colgate Invitational on Tuesday.

Kansas won the 39-team event by 500 pins over Saginaw Valley State, rolling a 3,671 three-game team series that missed the all-time collegiate record by only six pins.

KU’s Rhino Page, a freshman from Wichita, and Marc D’Errico finished first and third respectively in individual standings. Page averaged 240 and D’Errico 236.7.

Jesse James, of Lawrence, was sixth and Jason Elliott finished 12th.

The KU women finished 15th, but Kelly Zapf wound up second in the individual standings with a tourney average of 230.
