Cale services

Graveside services for William F. Cale, 74, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Cale died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at Lakeview Manor.

He was born May 3, 1928, in Clarksville, Pa., the son of Emery and Margaret Catherine (Burch) Cale. He moved to Lawrence from Bonner Springs.

Mr. Cale served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been disabled for several years and formerly had worked as a coal miner, farmer, sheep herder, gasoline station attendant and lumber jack.

He married Virginia Davis on Aug. 9, 1953, in Irondale, Ohio. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Margaret Bowmar, LaPorte, Ind., and Betty Jean Brogan, Lawrence; two sons, William F. and Thomas R., both of Lawrence; a brother, Pete, DeSoto; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
