Tell us about school pets
Journal-World Teen Advisory Board members are putting together a story about pets in the classroom. If your teachers have a critter or three in their classrooms, let us know at teens@ljworld.com or call and leave a message at 832-6361. We’ll need your name and phone number as well as your teacher’s name and school.
- We’re also taking reader poems. Send yours to teens@ljworld.com.
‘The Sun’
Bright and bold like gold but as
beautiful as rubies shining
like a dew-covered red rose
As the sun sinks into a
purple plum sky
To yet close another day before the
quartz white moon rising
for another night.
While on the other side of the
ever-spinning Earth
the sun is awake.
— “The Sun” was written by Ben Berlin, a fifth-grader at Pinckney School.
