Clara J. Johanning
Services for Clara J. Johanning, 90, Worden, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Johns United Church of Christ north of Worden. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
Mrs. Johanning died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 7, 1912, in rural Douglas County, the daughter of George W. and Mary (Seele) Hunsinger.
She grew up in Fairview, attending grade school there. She then attended Vinland High School.
She was a member of the St. Johns United Church of Christ. She also was active in EHU, Women’s Fellowship of St. Johns and the Worden Workers 4-H Club. She also was active in state-level 4-H.
She married Ernest Johanning on Oct. 10, 1937, in Douglas County. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carol Chaney, St. Louis, and Marilyn Mitchell, Overbrook; two sisters, Elsie Hunsinger and Ann Radcliff; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Baldwin. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
