Burkhead

Dean and Rosalie Burkhead, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a brunch at Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence. They also attended a play and had dinner in Overland Park. Their family joined them in the festivities.

Dean Burkhead and Rosalie Weigel were married Jan. 31, 1953, at St. Joseph Church in Oakley. Their children are Deanna and Marc Lowe, Topeka; Terri and Scott Cooper, Garnett; Tom and Leah Burkhead, Leawood; and Patsy and Steve Huffman, Kim and Joe Lewis, and Pamela Burkhead, all of Lawrence. They have 13 grandchildren.

Gill

Jimmie L. and Pauline Gill, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family celebration.

Jimmie Gill and Pauline Wright were married Feb. 17, 1943, in Towanda.

Jimmie was employed by Amoco Oil Co. for 36 years before retiring in 1982. Pauline is a homemaker and worked for the Lawrence school district before she retired in 1983. They have lived in Lawrence since 1972.

The couple’s children are Rusty and Sheree Gill, Baldwin; and Grant and Linda Gill, Lee’s Summit, Mo. They have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
