Womack, Schuler Golds: Allison Womack and Sindra Schuler of Kansas School of Gymnastics each won gold medals in the all-round at Level 7 and Level 9 at the CATTS Classic. KSG’s Lindsey Fisher was second at Level 9. Thirds went to Laura Devlin at Level 8 and Audrey Schenewerk at Level 9. KSG will play host to the Shannon Martin Compulsory Invitational on Saturday. - Flames Sixth Graders Champs: Sport 2 Sport Flames sixth graders won last weekend’s MAYB tournament on their home floor. Team members are Bailey Scott and Haley Epperson of Eudora; Tracie Weege and Clair Miles of Baldwin, Emily Huerter of Lecompton; and Taylor Bird, Taylor Manning, Maggie Hull and Rosie Hull from Lawrence. Coaches are Troy Bird and Danny Manning.
- Hobbits Program: Registration forms for Soccer Hobbits, a Kaw Valley Soccer Assn. program for 4- and 5-year-olds not in kindergarten, are available at Holcom Rec Center, Checkers grocery store and the KVSA office at 2518 Ridge Ct.
- Force Girls Divide: Caroline Mayhew, Kristy Gerard and Stef Stuever scored as Kaw Valley Force U-11 girls edged Shawnee Lightning, 3-2, last weekend. However, Shawnee Thunder nipped the KVF U-12 girls, 3-2. Melissa Burch and Carlin Francis scored the KVF goals.
- Jayhawk Kid Wrestlers: The Jayhawk Kids Wrestling Club picked up two first-place finishes at the Ottawa Invitational and three more firsts at the Thunderbird Novice Tournament. At Ottawa, firsts were recorded by Alex Hardman and Scott Deo; second-place finishes by Caleb Gress and Chris Coons; thirds by Brandon Goodwin, Kenny Flanders and Zack Toelkes; and a fourth by Ben Abernathy. At the Thunderbird meet, Flanders, Gress and Toelkes placed first; Coons and Abernathy placed second; and Cole Deo, Emma Mercer and Kenny Beard collected third-place finishes.

- Ladyhawks Champs: Lawrence Ladyhawks U-14 basketball won the MAYB tournament here last weekend. Team members are Jenna Brantley, Kelsey Harrison, Allie Hock, Lauren Kimball, Kayley Lane, Cassie Potter, Jessica Scott, Hannah Somers and Jenica Wessels. Coaches are Keke Blackmon and Tony Lyles.
- LJWC Winners: Desiree Housworth, Amanda Morris, Carissa Nott, Ammon Austin, Andy Jones, Caleb D’Armond, Zechariah Warren and Adrian Tubbs of Lawrence Junior Wrestling Club earned gold medals in the Thunderbird Invitational last Sunday at Tecumseh Shawnee Heights. Seconds went to Brianna Hayes, Deidre Housworth, Austin Anderson and Jacob Warren. Thirds were earned by Summer Wilks, Misty Hayes, Corey Vadnois, Robert Flaig, Garrett Girard, Devan Probst and Braxton Vardys. Fourth-place finishers were Katrina Hayes, Dottie Housworth, Tony Wheeler and Dale Roussel.
