Dorothy Wadsworth

? Memorial services for Dorothy Wadsworth, 72, Eudora, will be at 11 a.m. March 8 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel. Private burial services will be in Eudora Cemetery.

Ms. Wadsworth died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born April 22, 1930, in Wichita, the daughter of Albert E. and Esther Leith (Manning) Wadsworth. She attended Wichita public schools and received a bachelor of arts degree from Wichita State University. She received a second bachelor of arts degree and a master’s degree from Kansas University. She had lived in Eudora since the late 1980s.

Ms. Wadsworth was art supervisor for Olathe public schools in the 1960s. She was a charter member of the faculty at Johnson County Community College in 1969 and was active in the development of the art department, commercial art program and Faculty Assn. She was a professor of communication design until she retired in December 1998.

Survivors include two sisters, Margaurite Fanning, Wichita, and Kathleen Johnston, Washington, D.C.; and longtime friend Judy Brazil, Eudora.

The family suggests memorials to Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
