Burglaries and thefts reported

Residents of a Kansas University sorority say someone is stealing from the house.

According to a police report, four suitcases worth $960, 20 KU student basketball tickets, and a $1,500 diamond necklace are missing at Sigma Delta Tau, 1625 Edgehill Road.

Lawrence Police Lt. David Cobb said nine residents reported having something taken. There was no forced entry to the building, and the thefts happened between Dec. 1 and Tuesday, Cobb said.

Condition reports

  • Wyatt Elliott, 3, Clearview City, was released Tuesday from Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. He was injured Saturday in a traffic accident on County Road 1061 and North 600 Road.
  • Kimberly Forsman, 44, Topeka, remained in serious condition Wednesday night at KU Med, Kansas City, Kan. She was injured Tuesday in a head-on collision at Eighth and Kentucky streets.
