Seahawks sweep KSD

Seabury boys win fourth straight; girls end skid

? Seabury Academy’s boys basketball team is on a roll.

The Seahawks (5-6) claimed their fourth consecutive victory by downing Kansas School for the Deaf, 30-27, on Tuesday night at the KSD gym.

“We’ve found ourselves in slowing the game down,” Seabury coach Marcus Heckman said. “The scores of our last four games are 30-27, 27-22, 40-38 and 27-25.

“We’re spreading the floor and controlling the clock and staying close and pulling out games late. It’s not been the prettiest thing, but we’re winning.”

Kris Finger scored four points in the last minute and a half, personally erasing a 27-26 deficit.

“On both, he penetrated, got in the lane, got to eight feet and planted. He showed patience and got the ball on the rim,” Heckman said. “He was aggressive, which was our problem most of the night. We didn’t play an aggressive game which prevented us from pulling away.”

Aaron Landis led the way with 11 points, while Adam Davis had nine and Tavis Sartin six for the winners.

The Seahawks will travel Friday to Lebo.
