Sheriff’s office to get canine help

Douglas County is about to get a new deputy dog.

Sheriff Rick Trapp received permission Monday morning from county commissioners to accept a $10,000 gift, which will finance the bulk of buying and training a new dog to sniff out drugs, track suspects and root out burglars from buildings.
