Haskell loses pair of games
BARTLESVILLE, OKLA. ? Melissa Mosset had 24 points and nine rebounds, but Haskell’s women’s basketball team fell two points short Friday night in a 61-59 loss at Oklahoma Wesleyan.
Melissa Catron finished with 14 points for HINU.
Moriah Ruhnke led OWU with 20 points. Tiffany Alford sank four three-pointers and had 14 points. OWU outrebounded Haskell 44-31.
“We had a chance to win,” HINU coach Phil Homeratha. “It’s just a matter of being on the road. We’re playing much better now.”
OWU also defeated Haskell’s men, claiming a 97-56 victory. Justin Falleaf led Haskell with 13 points, and Corey Ladson had 12. The Indians were hampered by 24 turnovers.
Kenroy Smith led OWU with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Anthony Swinton had 17 points, 12 assists and seven of Oklahoma Wesleyan’s 18 steals.
OWU sank 13-of-29 three-pointers, compared to 3-of-21 shooting for HINU.
Haskell will play today at College of the Ozarks in Branson, Mo.
